“Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2026 and be completed in the fall of 2026.”
New news is in from Portage County Engineer Larry Jenkins Jr.’s office on the plans for the the Newton Falls Road Bridge Replacement. After necessary safety repairs blocked temporary travel from Route 225 to McClintocksburg Road this past Fall through Spring ’24, the permanent repair plan is now in place, and is due to begin in the Spring of 2026 and to be completed in the Fall of 2026.
According to the Press Release issued on August 2, 2024 “The proposed bridge replacement will require closure of Newton Falls Road for approximately 120 days. Traffic will be detoured via State Route 225 to Griffith Road to McClintocksburg Road. Detour information will be posted prior to the roadway closure, and access shall be maintained to all adjacent properties for the duration of the project.”
