- Currently our Department has only 8 active members and, of those, only 3 reside in Paris Township
- Response times to 911 calls are longer due to a very light staff – we need more volunteers
- NO EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED – all training will be provided by the well-experienced Fire Department Staff
- After training volunteers are paid on a per call basis
- Please consider answering this call by becoming a Volunteer Firefighter…your commitment fulfills an important civic duty and could make a great impact on the emergency needs of our community!
We currently have positions available for both part-time and volunteer (paid per call) Firefighter/EMTs. If you’re interested in becoming a “volunteer” Firefighter/EMT, no formal training or experience is necessary, as we will provide the required training. In addition, once a member becomes certified, they are compensated on a per call basis. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a member or learning more, please stop by the fire station on any Monday evening between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 PM. We’d be happy to show you around the station and answer any questions you may have.
Additionally, High School Students (Freshmen to Seniors) interested in joining the fire department, who live in our response area, can be put on the department as a “Cadet” firefighter and then be sent to school to become a certified member upon graduation.
