The Portage County Board of Commissioners has announced the replacement of the bridge structure on Newton Falls Road in Paris Township. The bridge, located just east of the intersection of Holcomb Road and Newton Falls Road over the West Branch of the Mahoning River, will undergo construction in the beginning of July with the work intended to be completed in the Fall of 2026.
The project includes the installation of a new bridge structure, including minimal approach work matching in kind roadway conditions. A detour for the closure will be posted in the field and on the County Engineer’s website.
