The Shearer Community Center is an excellent choice for private ‘no alcohol’ events and party functions that require a hall – featuring the amenities needed to host events such as bridal or baby showers, family or class reunions, or any other personal or business event that our local space can fulfill; and all with a maximum capacity of 217 persons (for a seating-only event) or 101 persons (an event with tables & seating).

Facility amenities include:

  • Tables and chairs – (the room has the capacity mentioned above) but you’ll provide some of your own of each to achieve maximum capacity. We have approximately (14) 8-foot rectangular tables and approximately 80 chairs – check with Dorene to prepare for your event needs when reserving.
  • A fully functioning kitchen that includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and 30-cup stainless steel coffee maker.
  • Restroom facilities.

You are welcome to schedule a walk-through to see if the facility meets your event needs.

When reserving the Shearer Community Center for rental you will be asked for the following:

  • Confirmation that you are age 21 years or older.
  • Your signature as ‘Person Responsible’ on the binding Application & Permit for Rental agreement.
  • Your acknowledgment of agreement to abide by the Posted Rules for Facility Use & Checkout Process.
  • The Deposit and Rental fee (there is currently no charge for event cancellation). The Deposit refund is processed during the next scheduled Trustee meeting, after a satisfactory checkout inspection.
